Zoned Out is a personal project exploring the unspoken social codes and aesthetics of London’s underground. After relocating to the city, I became fascinated by the tube as a condensed reflection of urban society—a place where people zone out, exist together in silence, and unintentionally express themselves through fashion. Therefore, I decided to create a project where I would investigate how people make up the tube culture and structure. Inspired by street documentation platforms like New York Nico and campaigns like Balenciaga’s paparazzi-style visuals, I developed a sculptural garment and a short fashion film that blur the line between observer and observed. The work reimagines the tube as a living entity, capturing the rhythm, anonymity, and style of its daily passengers in a human-centric, speculative narrative.

OBSERVATION JOURNAL

A series of images I captured on the London tube and later edited and composed this observational journal to comment on the behaviour of the people on it as well as give an image to the humanisation of the London tube.
